We are a CIPC-registered not-for-profit organisation, based in Cape Town. Our approach to alleviating homelessness is based on compassion, community involvement, and long-term impact. We mobilise and equip churches and other FBOs with a replicable model that helps them engage meaningfully with people experiencing homelessness—offering support, structure, and pathways to restoration. Through training, resources, and collaboration, we aim to strengthen local responses and inspire hope where it’s needed most.

The Next-Step Foundation has its origins at Common Ground Church in Sea Point, Cape Town, whose motto is to “Be like Jesus. Become like Jesus. Do what Jesus would do.” Inspired by Jesus, our Foundation has a two-fold purpose. One is to share the Good News of salvation. Second is to help the needy in practical and sustainable ways. We do so by encouraging and supporting participating churches and faith-based organisations.
We inspire, train, mentor and support churches and other FBOs financially and practically with the implementation of tailored personal assistance to homeless individuals. For example:
